The Cheap Shot! is a 48" foam flying wing that is specifically designed for competition combat flying. It is constructed of 2# density EPS construction foam with an EPP leading edge. The EPS/EPP Cheap Shot! does not use wing spars. The All EPP Cheap Shot uses (2) 3/16" carbon fiber spars on the bottom of the wing for structural stiffness. With standard servos and a 275ma battery pack, the Cheap Shot! will be combat ready at 17oz.
The Cheap Shot! design is the result of a design evolution using a variety of airfoils and and elevon sizes that has resulted in a combat glider that has superior flight and recovery characteristics. The Cheap Shot! airfoils are thicker than most, and use a lot of tip washout to reduce tip stall, a common problem in flying wing designs.
The Cheap Shot! was used by Jim Porep to win the SMAC '99 Flying Wing class at Temple Hill California.
Wide Glide
48" Span EPP/EPS Extra Wide Combat Flying Wing
Area: 660 sq.in. / 18-26 oz.
The Wide Glide is similar in design and construction to the Cheap Shot!, but has a 31% wider chord and slightly less sweep. At 26 oz., it is heavier and packs more punch that the Cheap Shot!, but the increased wing area results in the same wing loading and similar flying characteristics. It has a 48" span and is combat legal in all 50 States!

The Mother Ship is a scaled up version of the Cheap Shot. It has a wing span of 83" and weighs 4 pounds with a 600 mah battery pack and 2 standard servos. The EPS/EPP kit is constructed of 2# density EPS foam and uses a 2" EPP leading edge. The All EPP Mother Ship is constructed of 1.3# density EPP foam and uses (4) 1/4" carbon tubular spars on the top and bottom of the wing for support.
The Mother Ship is not legal in most Southern California combat contests, but is a blast to fly at other times. Other combat wings that are in the air are mystically attracted to the Mother Ship, but are no match in a collision. The Mother Ship has unusually good flight characteristics and flies extremely well inverted. It will do outside loops with ease!
