EPP is an acronym for Expanded Polypropylene. EPP has found many uses in the model airplane world and is a light weight and much more durable material compared to rigid foams such as white beaded EPS.
We stock EPP foam in 1.3# or 1.9# density. Our 1.3# EPP is by far the most popular and commonly used for wings and flying surfaces. The 1.9# EPP is generally used for fuselages, but can also be used for wings. The 1.9# EPP carves and sands more easily and is a more rigid material compared to 1.3#, but it is heavier.
EPP structures are typically covered with Color Tape, or a low temperature heat shrink covering like Ultracote. EPP should not be used for surfaces that you intended to sheet with balsa wood. Rigid EPS foams are better suited for covering with sheet balsa.
EPP is a molded material and has a surface "skin" on 1 or more sides. The molded surface is not as true as a cut surface, and this "skin" averages about 1/8" deep. The "skin" is a higher density than the core of the material and does not cut the same with a hot wired as the core of the sheet. This fact should be taken into account when selecting sheet thickness.
We stock 1.3# density EPP in White and Black. 1.9# EPP is available only in white.

TSEPP Box: This 26x15x12 box can hold up to 15 thin sliced EPP foam sheets.
4x24x36: 2 sheets of 2x24x36. Two sheets of 2x18x48 will ship for this same price.
10x24x36: Up to (5) 2x24x36 sheets or (4) 2.5x24x36 sheets. Also applies to 18x48 sizes.
4x36x48: (2) 2x36x48 or (1) 4x36x48 sheets.

Thin sliced EPP Sheets:
We now stock 3mm, 4mm and 6mm EPP foam in 24" x 36" sheets. The foam is 1.3# density white EPP that has been machine blade sliced to either 3mm or 4mm. Prices are listed above. There is a minimum order of 5 sheets which can be of mixed sizes, either 3mm, 4mm or 6mm.
The 3mm sheets will vary in thickness from 2.8mm (0.112") to 3.4mm (0.134"). The 4mm sheets will vary in thickness from 3.8mm (0.150") to 4.2mm (0.165"). The 6mm sheets will vary in thickness from 5.5mm (0.216") to 6.5mm (0.256").
Thin sliced EPP sheets are available only in a 24" by 36" size and only in 1.3# density. Black and White are available.
We can hot wire cut EPP to any thickness, but hot wire cut sheets are slightly heavier than sliced sheets and are more expensive due to the machine time requirements.
